Re: Suggestion: Master slave configuration
Don't get me wrong Edward, it is an excellent suggestion and I have as I said been discussing it before. The reason I suggested alternative solutions is that I don't think I will have time to implement it right now... The implementation would be along the lines you suggested, with a TCPCommandPort i...

Re: Suggestion: Master slave configuration
To increase the range of the transmitter/receiver is of course the easiest solution. I have been discussing a master/slave setup with other users, but then it was for a setup with one server at the summer house and one at home that should behave as one system. In your case an other option might be t...

Re: opennethome feel people!
Well, I was a bit curious about this, so I actually implemented some Items for this. The main Item is the ArpScan-Item. There you configure the arp scan command and how often it should scan. The ArpScan-Item only works on Linux, and you have to have arp-scan installed. You also have to make arp-scan...

Re: Alternative web views (no edit functionality) or direct links to web parts
So, I actually implemented the read only option in the HomeGUI, so there is now a "AllowEdit"-check-box there. If you want a read only view, you create a new HomeGUI-Item with a new LocalUrl, for example /public (don't forget to change this). If you don't specify a Location, a new location...

Re: log alarm reset button?
Ok, I did a small dirty fix. If you go to the settings page, there is now a new action called ClearLog. This will clear the log in the GUI and the warning icon will disappear. The log file is still intact. It is in the nightly build.

Re: Alternative web views (no edit functionality) or direct links to web parts
Interesting question. I have been thinking about the same thing, but I have not really had the need yet, and no one have asked before. It is not currently possible, but it would be quite easy to add a setting to the HomeGUI-Item that it is in non edit mode. Then you could create a separate HomeGUI-I...

Re: opennethome feel people!
Yes, it wold be nice to be able to use the phones wlan connection to determine if someone is home and configure rules for that to switch lamps on and off. I have looked in to it a bit, and at a first glance arp-scan seems to work quite well. Unfortunately it seems like there is no way to access the ...

Re: Instant messaging ideas?
Well, it should not be THAT hard to remember right? I am guessing that instead of "turn on" you would configure the word "Sytytys", or on Swedish I use the word "Tänd" as trigger for turning on the lamp. The problem would be for Germans I guess, since they like to put t...

Re: Instant messaging ideas?
Ok, I am a bit afraid of the risk of the Item misunderstanding what you want to do, and doing the wrong thing… Also, I don’t want the commands to be too technical for the user. I put together a simple Item called LampMessageInteractor which does sort of what you suggested. You specify a list of lamp...

Re: Instant messaging ideas?
Thanks! I have actually been thinking about similar ideas. Especially since I realized that my iPhone has voice recognition, so I can actually talk in the commands. I do not really like spoken interfaces, but sometimes it is practical. One Idea would be to have an Item where you give it a list of la...
