Has anyone tried the RX433N receiver module and a Raspberrypi like they do at ... -receiver/ to receive Nexa 433 MHz signals for NetHomeServer? Looks more simple than using a USB sound card

I have been working with similar solutions for sending signals, see problem is that it is hard to get reliable reception in Linux without a kernel mode driver, which usually means building your own version of the kernal. I am not sure exactly how they do it in this example, but my guess is that the RPI is 100% busy scanning RF, and can do little else.

What I am working with right now however is to use an Arduino as receiver/transmitter. It can handle the real-time parts of reception/transmission and you can find them below $5 on ebay. OpenNetHome has all encoders/decoders built in, so the Arduino only have to receive and send pulses. I think this will be a nice low cost alternative.

Sounds great. I'm looking forward to test that :-)
