Open net home web gui.

Post by wespan » Wed Feb 28, 2018 5:33 pm

Can't start the open net home web gui after I moved my raspberry to another room. Try http://192.168.1.4:8020/home but only get error message "web page can not be reached".
All my earlier programed switches, gauges still works ok.

Hmmm, I am guessing your raspberry has been given another IP address. Can you log in to your router and verify the address?

This is why we assign static leases in our DHCP server.

Before I moved it it was 5 and next startup it was assinged 4 so I guess it should have worked to use 4 in the adress.
Now I set it static back to 5 and re-started everything. But get 404 when trying to reach. My "net home client" in Android works fine.

Try http://192.168.1.5:8020/home?page=rooms
EDIT: Or http://192.168.1.4:8020/home?page=rooms
(not sure which IP address is the right one now)

Before you do that, you might want to reboot the Raspberry one more time and perhaps update your NetHome installation (new nightly build). Might just be something temporary.
I've sometimes had trouble if I've rebooted the devices in the wrong order. FIRST the router/DHCP-server, THEN the Raspberry.
Also, a power cut may cause trouble because the Raspberry boots faster than my router when the power comes back on (and the Raspberry won't be assigned an IP address from the router). Then I just have to boot the Raspberry one more time.

EDIT: And NEVER cut the power on the raspberry by just yanking the power cord out. ALWAYS shut it down properly (sudo shutdown -P now). They are notoriously sensitive to power cuts and will f**k up the SD-card every chance they get.

Thanks for help. However, I re-installed everything and now it is working again. Just a lot of writing, sun timer and connecting switches. Tried to use the old config.xml but could not replace it. Guess it has to do with admin rights.
