The arp scan by PuTTY works (sudo /usr/bin/ARP scan -r 3 -B 2 -Q --interface=eth0 --localnet).
but in the Net Home Server it does not result in any ting with the same command.
MacCount = 0, this should be something other than 0 i guess?
is it anyting i have missed?
Current setup is,
Raspberry pi with Rasbian JESSIE version november 2015
NetHomeServer, Version: 2.1-SNAPSHOT-f5a4a

Re: Cant get ARP scanner to work
Hmm, I was kind of afraid of this... I did some tries with arp-scan to see how it worked out, and the result was that it did not work good enough... I should probably have removed the Items again. arp-scan requries root access, so you have to do something to make it possible for the nethome-user account to run it. The easiest way is to do as I suggest in this post:

If you read that thread you will see that I kind of gave up on the idea...

Re: Cant get ARP scanner to work
Root access was the reason that I have not come on.
You have probably correct in that it is perhaps not as reliable, but it is interesting to test, it gives suggestions for new ideas.
An idea is to use the bluetooth to detect presence.
